Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse in Winston-Salem, NC. This contract position offers a dynamic environment where you will provide exceptional care to patients with orthopedic and neuro spine conditions.

Job Details:

• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years of experience required, with a focus on orthopedic work.
• Traveler Experience: First-time travelers are welcome if they have EPIC experience.
• Skills Required: IV Start and Telemetry.
• Certifications Required: BCLS, NIH.
• Preferred Skills: ACLS, Charge Nurse Experience, Level I Trauma Experience.
• Patient Population: Average Daily Census of 37, with a total of 39 rooms and beds, focusing on orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical patients.
• Patient Diagnoses: Covid patients are integrated into the general patient population unless they require ICU care.
• Ratios: Expect a 5-6:1 ratio, which may flex up to 7:1 in extreme cases.
• Float Requirement: Required to float to any other med surg unit within the facility as needed.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is required; if an RN calls out on a weekend, they must make up that time on a weekend.
• Scheduling: Options for block scheduling available (F/S/S or S/S/M).
• Special Procedures/Unit Details: Fast-paced unit requiring nurses to manage pain effectively for orthopedic and spine patients.
• Holiday RTO: Cannot approve any holiday RTO.
• Additional Requirement: Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty.
