Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Travel RN in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Idaho Falls, ID. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced RNs looking to make a difference in the lives of critically ill children. With a focus on teamwork and patient care, you'll be part of a dedicated staff committed to providing the highest quality of care.
Unit Information:
- Number of Beds: 16
- Number of Staff: 35
- Patient Ratios: 1-2:1 PICU patients, 3:1 IMC, 4:1 based on acuity
Skill Set Required:
- Minimum of 1+ year of recent, direct bedside experience with pediatric critical care patients.
- Experience with pediatric mechanical ventilation, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nasal CPAP, and managing tracheostomies.
- Experience with managing arterial lines, central lines, and titrating vasoactive, paralytic, and sedative infusions.
- Competency in weight-based pharmacology (Broset-method/PALS dosing) and age-specific assessments from neonates to adolescents.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience precepting novice and new graduate nurses.
Typical Procedures:
- Management of advanced respiratory interventions, invasive lines, and continuous organ-support therapies.
- Assistance in intubation, central line management, hypodynamic monitoring, and moderate sedation for specialized pediatric procedures.
- Titrating complex drip and continuous infusions.
Best Personality Fit:
- Team player who enjoys working with children and has a sense of humor.
Required Certifications:
- BLS, ACLS, PALS
