Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Travel RN in Labor and Delivery (L&D) in beautiful Corpus Christi, TX. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional care to patients while working in a supportive environment. As a skilled nurse, you will practice independently and demonstrate awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Meeting expectations of the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Providing nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addressing complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with your level of practice.
• Administering medications and treatments according to appropriate protocols; monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Documenting patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Assessing learning needs and providing education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifying issues and resources.

Job Requirements:

• Education/Skills: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
  • Current certification from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM).
  • Current BLS certification required (AHA only).
  • Current NRP certification required.
  • Current ACLS certification required (AHA only).
  • RN License in the state of TX or compact.

Position Requirements:

• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member, and initial onboarding requirements are validated through successful completion of designated organizational entry competency validation and a Perinatal Services-specific competency validation.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.
• Perinatal RN Residency or recent practice in a Perinatal Setting is preferred.
