Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Albany, GA. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on cardiac care. Experience Requirements: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Stepdown unit within an acute care setting is required without exception.

Unit Overview: The Cardiology Stepdown Unit features a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 to 5, with a total of 44 beds, including 8 semi-private rooms. The unit is divided into two sections: 4A focuses on cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery, while 4B caters to smaller procedures, drips, and CHF patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Charge Nurse (Clinical Supervisor) responsibilities
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Read and interpret telemetry strips
• Administer drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, and more
• Manage patients on BiPap and CPAP
• Coordinate with the IV Team, PICC team, and Pharmacy, all available 24/7
• Participate in floor-specific orientation (3 shifts)

Common Diagnoses: Patients typically include those post-operative from CABG, cardiovascular surgeries, and other related procedures. The average census is between 32-38 patients, with discharges and admissions of 12-16 patients on busy days.

Additional Notes:

• Must be comfortable with floating to ICU, taking only stepdown patients unless ICU experience is noted.
• Attendance is critical; ensure you are flexible with scheduling, including holidays.
• Dress code: Natural hair colors only, no fake nails or shellac, no facial piercings, and no visible tattoos.
