Join a leading healthcare organization as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) in Lee's Summit, MO. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate L&D RN to provide exceptional care in a dynamic environment. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team focused on maternal and neonatal health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in labor and delivery.
• Monitor and assess maternal and fetal well-being using advanced fetal monitoring techniques.
• Assist with labor and delivery procedures, including vaginal and cesarean births.
• Perform triage of obstetrical patients and manage antepartum and intrapartum care.
• Administer medications and IV therapy as needed, including magnesium sulfate and Pitocin.
• Support patients through the postpartum period and provide lactation support.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Current certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP.
• Experience with high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation preferred.
• Ability to work a minimum of 4-5 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period.
• Must be willing to float to postpartum unit as needed.
• Pending license accepted; local candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility.

This facility features a Labor and Delivery unit with 11 labor rooms and 5 triage rooms, housing both antepartum and intrapartum patients. The postpartum unit contains 15 rooms, with additional flex rooms for labor or postpartum patients. Patient assignments are based on acuity per AWHONN staffing standards, typically maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 in L&D.
