Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Med Surg/Telemetry Float Registered Nurse in Wilmington, NC. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, floating between the Emergency Department and MedSurg areas to provide exceptional care to patients. As a vital member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for managing patients with various medical/surgical diagnoses, including those requiring telemetry monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage patients in the ED Holding unit, awaiting inpatient beds.
• Float to ED and MedSurg areas as needed, providing care for MS/Tele cases.
• Perform essential nursing skills such as telemetry monitoring, colostomy care, feeding tube management, and more.
• Utilize rapid response teams effectively and manage patients with dysrhythmias.
• Administer blood products, manage peripheral lines, and perform phlebotomy.
• Provide care for patients with high acuity needs, including PCU level patients.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum 2 years of traveler experience in a similar role.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Proficient in interpretation of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring.
• Experience with colostomy care, renal failure management, and blood product administration.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• NIHSS, IV insulin protocols, and pre/post hemodialysis management.
• Experience with central line blood draws, starting IVs, and managing spinal cord injuries.

This position requires a commitment to working every other weekend and may involve participation in a Storm Team or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events. The target patient ratios are 1:6 for Med Surg/Telemetry and 1:4 for PCU level patients. Orientation for this role will be 12 hours, and navy scrubs are required.
