Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) in Wilmington, NC! We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Med Surg RN for a 13-week contract position. This is a fantastic opportunity for both seasoned travelers and first-time travelers to gain valuable experience in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Required Skills / Certifications / Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required in the last 5 years
• Active RN license required
• Must be able to take heparin drips, PCA, colostomy care, feeding tube care and management
• Blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy
• PICC line management, IV starts
• Management of dysrhythmias, O2 protocol management, non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions/PPE, traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, surgical drains, chest tubes - Emerson/Pleuravac
• Nasal cannula, oral suctioning, tracheostomy management, wound care
• Epic documentation experience required
• Certifications: BLS

Preferred Skills / Certifications / Experience:

• ACLS
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Pre/Post hemodialysis management
• Management of drips, CVA, pre/post neuro surgery, spinal cord injuries

Job Details:

• Target Ratios: 1:5-6 (must be comfortable with these ratios)
• Shift: 12HR NIGHTS (36 or 48 hours accepted)
• RTO: 7 Days MAX for Aya Auto Offer
• Float Requirement: Floating to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding
• Weekend Requirement: Traveler will be assigned to every other weekend
• Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team
• Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster
• Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed

Patient Diagnoses: Severe injury to the bones, joints, and/or soft tissue; traumatic brain injuries; spine injuries; pain; neurological trauma/nerve damage (small population); subdural hematoma.

Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR

Unit Orientation: 12-hour unit orientation, 16-hour organizational education

Scrubs: Navy
