Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Louisville, KY. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing care for patients with a variety of medical diagnoses.

Unit Information:

• Beds: 16
• Minimum Years of Experience Required: 1
• First-time Travelers Accepted: Yes

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• General MedSurg and PCU
• A variety of medical diagnoses

Patient Ratios:

• 1:5

Required License, National Certification, Certs:

• BLS
• NIHSS

Skills Required:

• Trach care
• Chest tube management
• PIV starts
• CBI
• Non-titratable drip

Support within the Department:

• PCA/CNA
• Unit Coordinator (secretary)
• Charge RN
• Remote Tele monitoring

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: Cerner
• IV Pump: Plum ICU Medical
• Med dispensing: Omnicell
• Unit specific equipment: WOW, POC glucose

Floating:

• Yes, could float to similar units

Orientation:

• Total of 5 days of orientation

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: Every third weekend
• On call: No
• Holiday Expectations: Based on unit needs
• Approval of RTO: NM approval
