Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiopulmonology unit, where you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care. As a professional caregiver, you will assume responsibility for a group of patients during your designated shifts, utilizing the nursing process, technology, and resources to deliver high-quality care.

Essential Functions:

• Perform all responsibilities and duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service.
• Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
• Complete initial assessments upon patient admission and develop appropriate plans of care in accordance with unit standards based on patient and family needs.
• Implement plans of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
• Modify plans of care based on continuous evaluation.
• Take responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
• Communicate with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues.
• Offer constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers, and confer with colleagues to expand knowledge base.
• Identify own learning needs and take initiative to begin appropriate solutions.
• Fulfill all requirements of departmental competencies.

Department Specific Job Functions:

• Manage care of acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
• Collaboratively identify patient goals of care, design and maintain care plans with patients and families.
• Implement interventions as needed, including medication administration and evaluation of effects.
• Prepare patients for procedures, pain management, IV venipuncture, blood administration, and monitor labs.
• Discharge patients and provide instruction for safe transition from the hospital.
• Document all care using EMR.
• Ensure team huddles are occurring.
• Evaluate patients and delegate with appropriate follow-up.
• Answer call lights and ensure basic care such as turning, toileting, etc., is done per standards of care.
• Manage conflicts and maintain professional communication with all team members.
