The Imaging technologist shall produce clinical diagnostic x-ray images as prescribed by physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures accordingly, while following all standards and safety. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following):

• Produce high quality x-ray and CT images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist.
• Provide proper radiation protection measures.
• Working with the EMRs to generate and complete exam orders.
• Perform, record, and analyze QC data in order to make judgments concerning the results and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision.
• Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work area, and monitoring temperatures in accordance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies.
• Regular attendance, including clocking in and out at scheduled times and minimal unplanned time off.
• Maintain clinical competency and current professional knowledge, by completing in-house education and competencies, learning new protocols, and new equipment training.
• Transporting patients.
• Knowledge of PACS systems, releasing/transmitting images.
• Perform x-ray procedures using portable machine as requested by Emergency Department and Nursing units. (Not applicable for clinic imaging tech)
• Recommend process improvements for increased efficiencies.
• Display and promote company values.
• Inform appropriate personnel of department supply needs ensuring uninterrupted testing.
• Work well with other departments to improve patient and staff experiences.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Completion of a JRCERT approved radiological training program or equivalent, required.
• Current registration by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required: R.T. or C.T., or willingness to obtain C.T. accreditation.
• Current Iowa Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice, required.
• BLS required.
