CVICU Registered Nurse | Baltimore, MD | Contract

Join a leading acute-care hospital as a CVICU Registered Nurse in Baltimore, MD. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment, caring for critically ill patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CVICU RN
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS
- Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
- Experience with post-cardiac surgery patients (not directly from the OR)
- Assistance with chest tube insertion/removal
- Care of ventilated patients
- Comfortable with POD 1 hearts and able to admit and take fresh hearts
- Must be able to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with lumbar drain management
Additional Information:
- On-call requirement: 4 call shifts in a 6-week schedule
- Weekend requirement: Every third weekend
- Average daily census: 1-8 patients
- Total staffed beds/rooms: 8
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Charting system: Cerner/med connect
- Communication: SBAR / shift note
- Medication system: Pyxis
This facility requires that all employees have the Flu vaccine.
