Join a leading healthcare facility as a Certified Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room (OR). This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic surgical environment, supporting a wide variety of surgical cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first assistance during surgical procedures, including General Surgery, GYN, Neurosurgery/Spine, Orthopedics, Trauma, and Urology.
• Perform essential first-assist skills such as tissue handling, clamping/cauterizing, suctioning/irrigation, wound closure, ligation, and drainage tube placement.
• Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques, instrument processing, isolation precautions, laser safety, and sterilization/disinfection protocols.
• Participate in weekday, weekend, and holiday call coverage as required.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of Surgical First Assistant experience is required; teaching hospital and community hospital experience are preferred.
• BLS certification is required.
• NBSTSA certification is required.
• CSFA, ABSA, or similar certification is required.
• No Maryland state licensure requirement is specified.

Additional Information:

• No regular weekend schedule is specified, but weekend call is required.
• Weekday call is from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; weekend call is from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• All travelers are expected to pick up a holiday call shift from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Must have broad Surgical First Assist experience, including robotic procedures and total joints.
• Scrub color is teal; scrubs are provided.
