Join a leading acute-care hospital as an RN in the Emergency Department (ER) in Salinas, CA. This facility is a 172-bed, Level II Trauma Center and the only Trauma Center in Monterey County, serving a diverse patient population. Recognized as the “Best Hospital in Salinas Valley” by the Salinas Valley Reader’s Choice - 2022, this teaching hospital boasts a 19-bed ER department that handles approximately 170 patients per day.
As an RN in the ER, you will encounter a variety of cases, including high acuity traumas such as motor vehicle accidents, penetrating wounds, gunshot injuries, and falls. However, travelers will not be assigned trauma patients. The department is supported by a Charge RN who does not take a patient assignment, as well as break nurses available to assist without patient assignments. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4, unless caring for ICU or Stepdown patients.
