Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Travel RN specializing in Med/Surg in Englewood, CO. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on patient care and advanced medical practices.

Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 33 rooms, accommodating up to 49 patients with some semi-private rooms
• Number of Staff: 62
• Day Shift: 2 charge nurses, 2 techs, 6-7 RNs
• Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1.5 techs, 5-6 RNs
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 day, 5:1 night
• Type of Equipment: Telemetry monitoring
• EMR: Meditech

Typical Hiring Profile:

• Must Have: Minimum 1-year current hospital Med/Surg experience, BLS certification
• Preferred: Experience with spinal cord injury (sci), ACLS certification

Typical Procedures Performed on Unit:

• Wound care and occasional bowel program
• Light burn care

This busy medical floor specializes in caring for surgical flap patients, particularly those with spinal cord injuries and stage 4 wounds requiring surgical intervention. The unit collaborates with the burn unit to provide care for low acuity burn patients. While semi-private rooms are utilized during high census periods, this is not the preferred patient care approach.
