Key Responsibilities of the Emergency Room Travel Nurse

• Provide rapid assessment and treatment for patients with urgent and emergent conditions.
• Triage patients based on acuity and respond quickly to changes in condition.
• Administer medications, perform procedures, and assist with diagnostic testing.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Manage high-stress, fast-paced clinical situations with sound judgment.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation in line with facility standards.
• Support patient safety and advocate for patient needs in all phases of emergency care.

Requirements for the Emergency Room Role

• Active North Carolina/Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS or TNCC preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Emergency Room experience.
• Strong critical-thinking, multitasking, and communication skills.
