Key Responsibilities of the RN – Interventional Radiology:
Provide comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures
Prepare patients for procedures by conducting assessments, reviewing medical histories, and obtaining informed consent support
Administer medications, including moderate sedation, and monitor patient responses throughout procedures
Continuously assess vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient status during minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
Assist radiologists and procedural teams with vascular, neurological, oncological, and other image-guided procedures
Ensure adherence to sterile technique, radiation safety, and infection prevention protocols
Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and post-procedure care instructions
Accurately document patient care, procedural events, and outcomes in accordance with facility standards
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of recent Interventional Radiology RN experience
Active New York RN license required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Experience with moderate sedation administration and monitoring
Strong knowledge of vascular access, hemodynamic monitoring, and interventional procedures
Excellent critical-thinking, communication, and patient assessment skills
Ability to work 10-hour day shifts in a fast-paced procedural environment
