Key Responsibilities of the RN – MICU:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill medical patients with complex conditions
Continuously assess, monitor, and evaluate patient status in a high-acuity intensive care environment
Administer medications, vasoactive drips, blood products, and advanced therapies as prescribed
Manage ventilators, invasive lines, hemodynamic monitoring equipment, and other critical care devices
Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Respond rapidly to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and critical care processes
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of recent MICU or Critical Care RN experience
Active Louisiana RN license or Compact RN License
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Strong knowledge of critical care nursing, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring
Excellent communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced ICU setting
