Operating Room RN Job Details
- Job Title: Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
- Location: Belleville, IL 62226 (Greater St. Louis area)
- Employment Type: Travel/Locum Tenens
- Healthcare Setting: Acute Care Hospital – Operating Room
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
- Hours: 40 hours/week
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (06:45 – 17:15)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2440-$2510
- Call Requirement: Weeknight and weekend call required (see below)
- Float: May float between Belleville and Shiloh campuses
- Charting System: EPIC
- Scrub Color: Navy
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at time of application)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
- BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Proven experience independently first scrubbing across multiple surgical service lines
- Strong competency in cardiac OR procedures and adaptability to surgeon preferences
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Ability to function in both circulator and scrub nurse roles
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of Belleville, IL
- References preferred at time of submittal
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver skilled perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced OR environment
- First scrub independently in diverse service lines: endovascular/hybrid, neuro-spine, ENT, orthopedic, and robotic surgeries
- Serve as both circulator and scrub nurse as needed
- Participate in required call shifts: 17:15–06:30 weeknights and 06:30–06:30 weekends (typically 4–5 weeknights and 2–3 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
- Float between Belleville and Shiloh campuses to support facility needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
- Comply with hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards
