PCU RN Job Details
- Location: Denver, CO 80218 (Colorado healthcare jobs)
- Unit: Transplant/Stepdown Unit (PCU)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Start Date: November 10, 2025
- End Date: February 9, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
- Hours per Week: 36

- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1470 - $1570
PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Colorado or compact state)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience
- Experience with Heparin infusions and PCA pumps required
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- Strong communication and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Stepdown/PCU nursing experience and solid organ transplant (kidney, liver, or pancreas) experience preferred
PCU RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU/stepdown patients, including post-transplant care
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and manage infusions (Heparin, PCA)
- Perform wound and drain care (wound vac, chest tube, JP drains)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Utilize clinical equipment such as bladder scanners, EKG machines, AccuVein, and patient lifts
- Document care and interventions accurately in Meditech EMR
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:3-4 for individualized nursing care
