PCU RN Job Details

• Location: Denver, CO 80218 (Colorado healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Transplant/Stepdown Unit (PCU)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: November 10, 2025
• End Date: February 9, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1470 - $1570

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Colorado or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience
• Experience with Heparin infusions and PCA pumps required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Strong communication and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Stepdown/PCU nursing experience and solid organ transplant (kidney, liver, or pancreas) experience preferred

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU/stepdown patients, including post-transplant care
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and manage infusions (Heparin, PCA)
• Perform wound and drain care (wound vac, chest tube, JP drains)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Utilize clinical equipment such as bladder scanners, EKG machines, AccuVein, and patient lifts
• Document care and interventions accurately in Meditech EMR
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:3-4 for individualized nursing care
