Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Jackson, Michigan (49201) – Michigan nursing jobs
• Healthcare Setting: Labor & Delivery Unit
• Contract Length: 12-week travel nursing contract
• Shift: 7PM – 7AM, every other weekend required
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Start Date: November 25, 2025
• End Date: February 14, 2026
• Employment Type: Travel RN contract
• Hourly Pay Range: $48–$62/hr
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1900–$1950

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (must be listed on resume; AWHONN's fetal heart monitoring courses do not qualify)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Strong clinical knowledge and ability to develop effective nursing care plans
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and healthcare teams
• Ability to perform a wide range of professional nursing services in a clinical setting

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Lead the coordination and delivery of high-quality, compassionate patient care in the Labor & Delivery unit
• Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care for patients and families
• Communicate pertinent patient and family information effectively to the healthcare team
• Participate in resolving variances from patient goals and implement solutions for improved patient outcomes
• Deliver patient education and support to mothers and families throughout the labor and delivery process
