ICU RN Job Details

  • Location: Kennewick, WA 99338 – The largest city in the Tri-Cities area, offering 25 square miles of recreational landscape, premier golf courses, 27 public parks, and access to Washington Wine Country. Convenient flights to 10 major U.S. cities and proximity to Seattle, Portland, and Spokane.
  • Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,880 - $2,020
  • Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) position
  • Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – Medical ICU with minimal cardiac cases
  • Start Date: December 8, 2025
  • End Date: March 9, 2026
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM), every other weekend required
  • Hours per Week: 36 hours guaranteed
  • Number of Beds: 14-bed ICU
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2, charge nurse is not assigned patients
  • Electronic Health Record: Paragon EHR system

ICU RN Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Washington State or compact eligible
  • Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience required
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
  • Experience caring for medical ICU patients (sepsis, respiratory, some cardiac and trauma cases)
  • Preferred: Medical ICU and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) experience
  • Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel nurse status

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients in the ICU
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions; administer medications and manage advanced life support equipment (including occasional IABP)
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Paragon EHR
  • Float to other units as needed based on patient care requirements
  • Uphold best practices in critical care nursing and foster a positive, team-oriented environment
