Location: Clinton, Maryland 20735 (Greater Washington, D.C. area)
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1890-$2030
Healthcare Setting: High Risk Labor & Delivery Unit
Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/12/2026 – End: 4/13/2026)
Nursing Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (19:00 – 07:30)
Hours per Week: 36
Call Requirement: 36 hours over 6 weeks (on premises within 45 minutes of call)
Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend/holiday as needed
Float Requirement: Float to similar units (Mom/Baby)
Scrubs Provided
Charting System: Cerner

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent high-risk Labor & Delivery RN experience
Previous charge nurse experience required
At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment completed
Valid compact RN license or Maryland RN license
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., C-EFM (NCC)
Two supervisor references
Ability to float to Mom/Baby or similar units
Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Local candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver expert care for high-risk labor and delivery patients
Circulate for C-sections and assist with high-risk deliveries
Triage obstetrical patients in a fast-paced environment
Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns (external fetal monitoring)
Serve as preceptor and/or charge nurse as needed
Float to Mom/Baby or similar units when required
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a teaching hospital
Document patient care using Cerner EMR system
