Medical/Surgical RN Job Details

• Location: Akron, OH 44304 (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Unit: 28-bed Medical/Surgical Unit (6 West)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (12/14/2025 – 3/14/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
• Patient Ratio: 1:5/6
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910-$1960

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical RN experience (Med/Surg nurse jobs)
• Active RN license (Nursys verification required)
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support) required
• Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months (must be listed on resume)
• Degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Availability to work every other weekend and holiday
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO) allowed during assignment
• Driver's License or State ID required for submission

RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to geriatric and medical/surgical patients
• Implement the 4Ms framework: What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote patient wellness and prevent functional decline
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and treatment responses
• Administer medications and perform prescribed treatments
• Float to other hospital units as required
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
• Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient outcomes
