Charleston Nursing Job Details
- Location: Charleston, SC 29425 (South Carolina nursing jobs)
- Facility Type: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital, Magnet Hospital
- Unit: Med/Surg Float Pool (Main Hospital & Ashley River Tower)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)
- Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30), 36 hours/week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Rotation: Required
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1420 - $1530
- Charting System: EPIC
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue or White top with Royal Blue bottoms
- Parking: On-site garage (minimal registration fee)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active South Carolina RN License or Multi-State/Compact State Registered Nurse License
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
- BLS certification required
- Proficient in isolation precautions, oxygen administration, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care, IV initiation and maintenance, and rapid response/code team protocols
- Ability to float between medical-surgical units as assigned
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Willingness to participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in multiple Med/Surg units
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform routine and specialized nursing procedures
- Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in condition, utilizing rapid response/code teams
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records
- Follow infection control and safety protocols
- Offer compassionate support to patients and families
- Participate in unit meetings, training, and ongoing professional development
