ICU RN Job Details
- Location: Worcester, MA 01608 (Massachusetts healthcare jobs)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/15/2026)
- Setting: ICU & CCU Combined Unit (20-24 beds)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 (Guaranteed)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Float Requirement: Float as needed within skillset (PCU/CC Stepdown support)
- Scrub Color: Navy blue
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1760-$1880
ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Massachusetts RN license preferred for local candidates)
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Previous travel nurse experience preferred
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record (EHR) system
- Ability to float to PCU/CC stepdown units as needed
- Compliance with hospital infection control policies (no artificial nails allowed)
ICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care to critically ill adults in a mixed specialty unit (pulmonary, MICU, SICU, CCU, CTS)
- Maintain nurse-patient ratios of 1:2, or 1:1 as clinically indicated
- Perform moderate sedation for bedside procedures (endoscopy, bronchoscopy)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to support PCU/CC stepdown units (3:1 ratio) as required
- Document all care and interventions using the Cerner EHR system
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols
