Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Salem, Massachusetts 01970 (Greater Boston area)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
• Unit: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: January 4, 2026 – End: April 4, 2026)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,990 – $2,130
• Hours per Week: 36 or 40 hours
• Shift Schedule: Primarily evening shifts; occasional day shifts (no night shifts). Options include 2x10-hour shifts and 1x8-hour shift, or 4x10-hour shifts.
• Patient Ratio: 1 RN : 2 patients
• Bed Count: 34
• Daily Census: 30–40 patients
• EMR System: EPIC

PACU RN Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of recent PACU Registered Nurse experience in a hospital or surgical center
• Active Massachusetts RN license
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, and BLS
• Ability to work evening and occasional day shifts
• Strong clinical skills in post-anesthesia care for surgical specialties: General, Thoracic, Plastic, Vascular, Orthopedics, Urology, and Gynecology
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients recovering from anesthesia
• Monitor and assess post-surgical patients, responding promptly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR system
• Support patients throughout the recovery process, ensuring comfort and safety
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and nursing best practices
