Medical/Surgical RN Job Details

• Location: Akron, Ohio 44304
• Healthcare Setting: 36-bed Medical/Surgical Unit (H5)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
• Start Date: January 18, 2026
• End Date: April 11, 2026
• Contract Duration: 12 weeks
• Nursing Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour nights)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:5/6

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical RN experience
• Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or compact state
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Epic EMR experience within the last year (must be listed on resume)
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Solid black scrubs required
• Flexible scheduling required (no block scheduling)
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off (RTO) at submission

RN Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adolescent through geriatric patients with medical and surgical needs
• Care for a diverse patient population including general surgery, urology, women’s health, gynecology, plastics, ENT, trauma, cardiothoracic, orthopedic, spinal/neuro overflow, and select obstetrical cases
• Thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment and adapt to changing patient needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR
• Float to other hospital units as required to support clinical operations
