Med/Surg RN Job Details – Augusta, GA
- Location: Augusta, Georgia 30901
- Assignment Length: 7 weeks (Start: January 12, 2026 – End: March 2, 2026)
- Healthcare Setting: 42-bed Med/Surg unit with post-surgical focus
- Nursing Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes, as needed
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience (travel nursing experience required)
- Active Georgia or Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- BLS certification (required)
- Epic charting system experience (required)
- Ability to manage a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Proficient in isolation precautions, oxygen administration, peripheral line care, and rapid response/code team utilization
- Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Full compliance required prior to start
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients, primarily post-surgical (orthopedic, urology, colorectal, bariatric, neurology, general surgery)
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Epic EHR
- Administer medications and prescribed treatments
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, Radiology, Social Services, and more
- Maintain patient safety and infection control standards
- Participate in rapid response and code situations
- Float to other nursing units as required
- Work every other weekend and be available for major holidays during the assignment
