Med/Surg RN Job Details – Augusta, GA

• Location: Augusta, Georgia 30901
• Assignment Length: 7 weeks (Start: January 12, 2026 – End: March 2, 2026)
• Healthcare Setting: 42-bed Med/Surg unit with post-surgical focus
• Nursing Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes, as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience (travel nursing experience required)
• Active Georgia or Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• BLS certification (required)
• Epic charting system experience (required)
• Ability to manage a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Proficient in isolation precautions, oxygen administration, peripheral line care, and rapid response/code team utilization
• Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Full compliance required prior to start

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients, primarily post-surgical (orthopedic, urology, colorectal, bariatric, neurology, general surgery)
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Epic EHR
• Administer medications and prescribed treatments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, Radiology, Social Services, and more
• Maintain patient safety and infection control standards
• Participate in rapid response and code situations
• Float to other nursing units as required
• Work every other weekend and be available for major holidays during the assignment
