ER RN Job Details – Asheville Healthcare Jobs
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801
- Facility: Emergency Department (101 beds)
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
- Start Date: December 14, 2025
- End Date: March 15, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Schedule: Every other weekend required; flexible scheduling available
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state) – required for all nursing jobs
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
- Experience in Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits/year) preferred
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (must be current before start date)
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork mentality and flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department
- Ability to coach, mentor, and provide real-time feedback to colleagues
- Excellent communication and patient experience skills (AIDET, respectful behavior, patient updates)
Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department
- Manage patient ratios: typically 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 (ED behavioral holds)
- Operate Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and utilize Cerner documentation system
- Collaborate with healthcare team members including techs and unit clerks to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float within all sections of the Emergency Department as needed
- Maintain updated patient boards and provide timely communication throughout the patient visit
- Adhere to department policies, dress code (navy scrubs), and attendance requirements
