ER RN Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 – North Carolina healthcare jobs
• Facility: Emergency Department (ER) – 101 beds
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 23, 2025
• End Date: February 22, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour day shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Scheduling: Every other weekend required; flexible scheduling available
• Uniform: Navy scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state) – Registered Nurse jobs
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
• Experience in Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits/year) preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC certification within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced emergency room environment
• Manage patient loads with ratios of 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 (ED behavioral holds)
• Operate advanced medical equipment including Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Document patient care using Cerner EMR system
• Collaborate with healthcare staff including techs and unit clerks to ensure efficient patient flow
• Float to all sections within the Emergency Department as needed
• Maintain excellent patient experience standards using AIDET and respectful communication
• Update patient boards and provide regular updates to patients and families
