ER RN Job Details
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801 – North Carolina healthcare jobs
- Facility: Emergency Department (ER) – 101 beds
- Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
- Start Date: November 23, 2025
- End Date: February 22, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour day shifts)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required; flexible scheduling available
- Uniform: Navy scrubs
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state) – Registered Nurse jobs
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
- Experience in Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits/year) preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC certification within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department
ER Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced emergency room environment
- Manage patient loads with ratios of 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 (ED behavioral holds)
- Operate advanced medical equipment including Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Document patient care using Cerner EMR system
- Collaborate with healthcare staff including techs and unit clerks to ensure efficient patient flow
- Float to all sections within the Emergency Department as needed
- Maintain excellent patient experience standards using AIDET and respectful communication
- Update patient boards and provide regular updates to patients and families
