Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Phoenix, AZ 85013 (Arizona nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical Unit
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse Contract
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• On-Site Position

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Arizona or compact state
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in a Med/Surg setting (2 years preferred)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for medical-surgical patients
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and ensure patient safety at all times
• Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses using Epic EMR
• Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare team conferences and contribute to patient rehabilitation programs
• Initiate and coordinate discharge planning and patient/family education
• Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team and seek guidance for complex cases
• Promote a safe and positive work environment by adhering to hospital safety policies and procedures
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after orientation
• Engage in ongoing professional development and team-building activities
