Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Smyrna, TN 37167 (Greater Nashville area)
• Healthcare Setting: Women's Services – Labor & Delivery Unit
• Job Type: Travel RN Contract
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per month

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring
• Commitment to patient-centered care and supporting patient choice
• Preferred: Spinning Babies and STABLE certification
• Ability to float to Mother/Baby or other clinical departments

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to laboring patients and families
• Support vaginal birth opportunities and patient preferences
• Circulate in the operating room and assist with procedures (IUPC, FSE, MgSO4, postpartum hemorrhage management, nitrous oxide administration)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team: midwives, CRNAs, OBGYNs
• Document care using CPN and Meditech systems
• Maintain patient experience scores above 75%
• Participate in couplet care and promote breastfeeding, including donor milk use
• Follow unit dress code (hot pink and black)
