Key Job Details – Med/Surg RN Travel Contract

• Location: Tyrone, PA 16686 (Central Pennsylvania)
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical Unit (Med/Surg)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/19/2026 – End: 4/20/2026)
• Nursing Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), every other weekend & holiday
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Unit Size: 18 beds
• Orientation: 8 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Active Pennsylvania RN license or compact state RN license
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Experience with Cerner EMR charting system preferred
• Previous charge nurse, community hospital, or LTAC experience preferred
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 5-6 per shift
• Must complete PA fingerprinting and Childline registration promptly after contract signing
• Lab work required within 72 hours of contract signing

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg unit
• Manage swing bed patients needing rehabilitation or long-term IV therapy
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage central lines, chest tubes, and surgical drains
• Perform wound care, including wound vac management
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
• Utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
• Document patient care using Cerner EMR
• Float to similar nursing units as needed
