Critical Care Nursing Job Details

Location: Wichita, KS 67214 (Kansas healthcare jobs)
Unit: Critical Care Unit (CCU) / Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel nursing contract)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
Hours per Week: 36
Start Date: January 26, 2026
End Date: April 27, 2026
Number of Beds: 26-bed ICU
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Electronic Medical Record: Meditech EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Kansas or compact state)
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
NIH Stroke Scale certification
Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience
Strong organizational and communication skills

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in a 26-bed ICU
Monitor and manage advanced critical care equipment (balloon pumps, CRRT, hypothermia devices)
Administer medication drips and manage central lines
Assist with heart catheterizations, cardioversion, and other ICU procedures
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Meditech EMR
Demonstrate a positive, driven, and efficient approach to patient care
