Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Phoenix, AZ 85006 (Arizona nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN position
• Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts/week)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Arizona or compact state)
• BLS Certification (required before first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required before first shift)
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in a Med/Surg hospital setting (2 years preferred)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and create individualized patient care plans
• Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams on patient care goals
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission
• Promote patient and staff safety by following hospital policies and clinical protocols
• Support a positive team environment and contribute to unit operations
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
• Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education
