Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Location: Cleveland, OH 44120 (Shaker Square)
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical Unit
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• Shift Schedule: Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Open Positions: 5 Med/Surg RN openings

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Ohio or compact state
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) required before first shift
• ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required prior to first shift (CIRH only)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg bedside clinical experience (2 years preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and create individualized care plans for medical-surgical patients
• Deliver high-quality patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and interdisciplinary healthcare team conferences
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
• Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively with physicians, charge nurses, and healthcare team members to support continuity of care
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary clinical staff
• Contribute positively to unit team building and a supportive work environment
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested following orientation
• Engage in professional development and continuing nursing education
