Telemetry RN Job Details

• Location: Belleville, Illinois (62226) – St. Louis Metro Area
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care Hospital – Telemetry Unit
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 26, 2026
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts per week (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Charting System: EPIC
• Scrub Color: Navy

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience in an acute care hospital
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license (required at time of submission)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Proficiency with EPIC charting
• Experience with cardiac drips (no titration), sheath pulls, and central line management
• Ability to float to all inpatient units at Belleville and Memorial East campuses
• Compliance with flu vaccine requirements (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Strong clinical skills in critical care cardiac nursing, hourly rounding, and bedside shift reports

Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult cardiac telemetry patients, including post-cardiac surgery and high-risk cardiology diagnoses
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips (no titration), perform sheath pulls, and manage central lines
• Care for patients with tracheostomies, chest tubes, and post-cardiac catheterization lab devices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records
• Participate in hourly rounding and bedside shift reports
• Float to other inpatient units within scope as needed
