Telemetry RN Job Details

Location: Tyler, TX 75701 (East Texas healthcare jobs)
Unit: Med/Surg - 6 South (Telemetry)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: January 26, 2026
End Date: April 27, 2026
Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
Hours per Week: 36
Patient Ratio: 1:5
Patient Rooms/Beds: 14

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience in a hospital setting
Previous travel nursing experience required
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Proficient with Epic EMR charting system
Experience in Trauma Level I hospital preferred
Must not reside in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties

Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients requiring cardiac and post-surgical observation
Monitor telemetry, interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
Start and maintain IVs, perform phlebotomy, and manage heparin protocols
Utilize remote monitoring systems and respond to rapid response/code teams
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and transportation
Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
Maintain compliance with hospital policies and ensure a safe, patient-centered environment
