Washington Nursing Job Details
- Location: Tacoma, WA 98405
- Healthcare Setting: TG Nursing Float Pool (Med/Surg Tele)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Start Date: January 26, 2026
- End Date: April 25, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Shift: 12-hour days
- Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
- Schedule: Every other weekend; schedule released 7-10 days prior for 3-week blocks
- Floating: Within Tacoma General and occasionally to Allenmore Hospital (2.5 miles apart)
- Charting System: Epic (Epic EMR experience required)
- Scrubs: Any color, professional attire
- Parking: Free in designated areas
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Washington nursing jobs require valid state licensure
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience with prior travel nurse experience; 2 years required if no travel experience
- Epic charting experience required
- Telemetry competency (must be completed and passed prior to start)
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to diverse patient populations, including Covid, post-surgical (GI, Ortho, Gynecology), and medical patients (COPD, CHF, DVT, AKI)
- Float within Tacoma General to all Med/Surg units, ED Holding, and as needed to Allenmore Hospital
- Provide post-op care for ortho, neuro, and general surgical patients (joint replacement, ORIF, laminectomy, fusion, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, GI surgeries, wound care, drains, ostomies, traches, bariatric surgery)
- Administer IV antibiotics, heparin drips, nebulizer treatments, and CIWA protocols
- Interpret basic cardiac rhythms and respond to telemetry monitoring
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including CNA support, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, and centralized telemetry techs
- Complete thorough documentation, hourly rounding, bedside reports, and ensure medication safety protocols
- Participate in required orientation and ongoing competency assessments
