PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Clyde, NC 28721 (Western North Carolina nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (Cardiac focus)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/19/2026 – End: 4/20/2026)
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Unit Size: 22 beds, 4:1 patient ratio
• Orientation: Bi-weekly
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Minimum of 2 years recent step-down, PCU, or ICU nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Flexible and adaptable to changing healthcare environments

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult cardiac patients, including post-cardiac cath lab and cardioversion cases
• Monitor and interpret telemetry; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Document patient care accurately using Paragon EHR system
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff
• Provide compassionate support to patients and their families
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and Joint Commission standards
