Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active and unencumbered RN license (Connecticut or compact state)
Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
BLS certification (AHA required)
Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment

L&D RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Labor & Delivery unit
Monitor maternal and fetal health throughout labor, delivery, and recovery
Assist physicians and midwives during labor, delivery, and surgical procedures
Administer medications and IV therapies according to clinical protocols
Educate and support patients and families throughout the childbirth process
Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare team meetings and foster a positive work environment
