Job Details — Travel Registered Nurse (Med/Surg)
- Position: Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (Med/Surg RN) / Travel RN
- Location: On-site in Cleveland, OH 44106 (University Circle)
- Assignment Type: Travel Contract — Travel Nursing Cleveland / Ohio travel RN
- Start Date: April 20, 2026
- End Date: July 19, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) — Night Shift RN
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1910 - $2010
- Unit: 30-bed Med/Surg with 12 flexible Step-Down (SDU) beds — transplant and bariatric experience valued
- Openings: 1
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required
- Charge Nurse: Intermittent charge responsibilities may be required (training/shadowing provided)
Requirements / Qualifications — Registered Nurse (RN)
- Active RN license in Ohio or a valid Compact RN license (Ohio nursing license or compact state accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience; solid organ transplant or bariatric surgery experience a strong plus
- Comfortable caring for both general Med/Surg and Step-Down (SDU) level patients — Step-Down RN experience preferred
- Able to work 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend and every other holiday
- Completion of facility onboarding, skills checklists, and compliance documentation required
- Current immunizations and health screenings as required by facility (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Influenza, TB/PPD, Fit Test, Physical/Health Statement)
- Driver’s License or State ID for submission
- Successful completion of background check and drug screen
Responsibilities — Med/Surg RN / Travel Nurse Duties
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to pre- and post-op solid organ transplant (kidney/liver/pancreas), bariatric, and general Med/Surg patients
- Assess, monitor, and document patient status; recognize and respond to changes in condition promptly
- Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and hospital protocols
- Provide patient and family education on care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care — strong communication and teamwork in a clinical setting
- Support unit operations, including intermittent charge nurse duties after training/shadowing
- Maintain infection control, patient safety, and documentation standards on every shift
