Springfield, Illinois Nursing Job Details
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: February 9, 2026
- Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (06:45 - 17:15)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend shift per month
- On-Call: Yes, approximately 1 per week
- Location: Springfield, IL 62781
- Healthcare Setting: Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-recognized hospital
- Scrub Color: Provided
- Charting System: Cerner
- Parking: Free permit parking
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in an acute care hospital
- Level I trauma nursing experience required
- General OR and trauma experience required
- Experience with bariatric, general, neurology, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, urology, and trauma cases
- Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
- Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
- CNOR and CST certifications preferred
- Active Illinois RN license (or in process)
- Travel RN experience required
- Must live at least 50 miles from facility
- Ability to float within skill set as needed
Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the operating room across all service lines except cardiovascular
- Circulate and/or scrub on surgical procedures including trauma, general, neuro, ortho, plastics, transplant, and urology
- Operate specialized equipment: electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana tables
- Participate in emergency management, code response, and infection control protocols
- Administer blood products and manage specimen handling and labeling
- Follow universal protocols and maintain patient safety
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy)
- Participate in on-call rotation and work scheduled weekends
