ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Telemetry experience; ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Physical ability to perform essential nursing duties

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing in the ICU, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and patient education
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team members, patients, and families
• Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Accurately update and manage electronic patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized clinical data
• Adhere to established nursing department guidelines and hospital policies
• Support quality improvement initiatives as directed by nursing leadership
