Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1800 - $1890
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801 — Western North Carolina, vibrant arts scene and mountain lifestyle (Asheville healthcare jobs, North Carolina nursing jobs)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (2/16/2026 – 5/18/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00p – 7:00a) — Oncology RN night shift / Travel RN nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: K9A Oncology/Women’s Surgical (9th Floor, Building K) — oncology unit, women’s surgical care
- Number of Positions: 2
Minimum Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a compact state (Travel RN licensure accepted)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year recent acute care experience (oncology nursing or surgical/medical telemetry experience preferred)
- Chemotherapy (Chemo) certification preferred — chemo certified oncology RN strongly encouraged to apply
- Team-oriented, strong clinical judgment, and willingness to learn unit-specific protocols
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality oncology nursing care to adult oncology and women’s surgical patients on a fast-paced unit
- Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and provide chemotherapy administration if certified (oncology nursing & chemo administration)
- Assist with common unit procedures including pelvic exams, echo, and thoracentesis as appropriate
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, pharmacists, social work, case managers) to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Cerner EMR — strong charting skills required
- Adhere to hospital policies, professional standards, and unit dress code (navy, white, or combo for RNs)
- Work scheduled weekends (approximately 6 weekend days per schedule); rare on-call requirements
