ER RN Job Requirements

Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) / ER Registered Nurse experience
Credential: RN (as required by the facility)
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke certification (as required by the facility)
Skills: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency care environment

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

Support safe, timely emergency care through assessment, triage, and ongoing reassessment
Provide nursing care in accordance with emergency department policies, standards, and scope of practice
Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and patient flow
Educate patients and families and provide discharge instructions as appropriate
Maintain accurate, timely documentation and support quality and safety standards
Respond effectively to urgent and emergent patient needs, including time-sensitive presentations
