• Position: PACU Registered Nurse (RN) / Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse / Perioperative Nurse
• Location: Salem, Massachusetts (01970) — North Shore, near Boston
• Contract Type: Travel Nurse Contract (Travel PACU RN)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (April 19, 2026 – July 18, 2026)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,370 – $2,500
• Hours per Week: 40 (36 hours guaranteed)
• Shift: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (8-hour days)
• Unit: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Bed Count / Census: 34 beds; 30–40 patients/day
• Clinician-to-Patient Ratio: 1 RN : 2 Patients
• Patient Population: Pediatrics, Adults, Geriatrics (pediatric PACU experience preferred)
• EMR: Epic
• Floating: Not required

Required Qualifications — PACU RN / Travel Nurse

• Minimum 5 years of PACU RN experience required (post-anesthesia and perioperative nursing)
• Active Massachusetts RN license
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Strong clinical skills in post-anesthesia care: airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, pain control, and rapid response to post-op complications
• Experience across surgical specialties: general, thoracic, plastic, vascular, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, and pediatric OR/PACU
• Proficiency with Epic EMR documentation and perioperative charting
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education skills

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality post-anesthesia nursing care for surgical patients recovering from anesthesia
• Perform thorough initial assessments and continuous monitoring (airway, vitals, pain, surgical sites, neuro checks)
• Recognize and intervene promptly for post-anesthesia complications and emergencies
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders
• Coordinate patient transitions with anesthesia, surgeons, OR staff, and perioperative teams
• Educate patients and families on recovery expectations, pain management, and discharge instructions
• Support recovery across a broad range of surgical cases and age groups while maintaining PACU safety and efficiency
