Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-week travel assignment in Boston, MA (02114) on a 24-bed inpatient medical-psychiatric unit.
Join a dynamic healthcare team as the sole Psychiatric RN (Travel Nurse) on a 13-week travel contract in the heart of Boston. Provide behavioral health nursing and medical-psychiatric care for adults with co-occurring psychiatric and medical conditions while experiencing Boston’s culture, history, and world-class amenities.

- Location: Boston, MA 02114 (Beacon Hill / Charles River area)
- Start Date: April 12, 2026
- End Date: July 11, 2026
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Unit: 24-bed inpatient medical-psychiatric unit (inpatient psychiatric unit / behavioral health)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts (days, evenings, nights; ~50% evenings/nights)
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Employment Type: Travel RN, On-site

Job Requirements
- Active RN license that meets Massachusetts state requirements (Massachusetts RN license preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; psychiatric nursing or behavioral health experience preferred
- Medicine or med-surgical experience preferred (helpful for medical-psychiatric patients)
- IV therapy and phlebotomy skills preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Ability to work rotating shifts and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team (psychiatry, medicine, social work, case management)
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered care to adults with co-occurring psychiatric and medical needs (psychiatric RN / mental health nurse)
- Perform comprehensive clinical assessments, monitor patient status, and implement nursing interventions
- Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and facility policy (medication administration for psychiatric and medical regimens)
- Support milieu management, crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and individualized safety planning
- Coordinate care and discharge planning with psychiatry, medicine, social work, and case management to ensure continuity of care
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR)
