- Setting: Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
- Employment Type: Travel RN, Full Time (travel nursing job / Texas nursing jobs)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (potential for temp-to-perm)
- Start Date: March 23, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36

Compensation
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570-$1650/week
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas or compact state (Registered Nurse)
- Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Minimum 1 year critical care experience preferred; new graduates with pediatric training considered
- Required pediatric cardiac experience: chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilator management, vasoactive infusions
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Completion of New Nurses Orientation and required competency validations
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pediatric cardiac critical care nursing in the CVICU, managing routine and complex cases
- Independently assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for pediatric patients
- Administer medications, vasoactive infusions, and advanced therapies; monitor effectiveness and side effects
- Manage ventilators, chest tubes, pacing wires, and post-operative cardiac care
- Document patient history, assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families; provide family-centered education
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team and delegate appropriately
- Participate in ongoing competency checks, skills validation, and quality improvement initiatives
