Job Details
- Position: Travel Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) / GI Endoscopy Nurse
- Location: Fort Myers, FL 33908 (Southwest Florida)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 27, 2026)
- Setting: Endoscopy Unit / Gastroenterology (GI) Endoscopy
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse, On?Site
- Shifts: 4 x 10?hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM), Monday–Friday, with a floating day off
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Call: Required (including weekends); must be within 30 minutes of the hospital when on call
- EMR: Epic
- Compensation: Estimated weekly salary: $1890–$1990/week (competitive pay; details provided upon application)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Endoscopy RN experience (GI endoscopy experience preferred)
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; must be eligible to practice in Florida
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Degree accreditation must be documented
- Must be willing to float to other units and sister campuses as needed
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (per radius rule)
- All requested time off must be submitted with application
Preferred Skills & Keywords
- GI/endoscopy nursing, peri?procedural care, and sedation monitoring
- Experience with endoscopic equipment, sterile technique, and recovery room protocols
- Strong documentation skills in Epic EMR
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration with gastroenterologists and anesthesia
Responsibilities
- Provide high?quality nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, etc.)
- Assess and monitor patient status before, during, and after procedures, including sedation and vital signs
- Administer medications and assist with sedation as ordered by the provider
- Prepare procedure rooms, maintain sterile technique, and assist with endoscopic equipment setup
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient care
- Document care, interventions, and procedural details accurately in Epic EMR
- Provide patient education and discharge instructions following GI procedures
- Respond to on?call needs promptly and professionally; float to other units or campuses as required, functioning as core staff
